PURPOSE-VALUE- VISION-MISSION STATEMENT
PURPOSE: “Why we are who we are”
The purpose of City Gate is to release the Kingdom of God through worship, prayer, equipping people and serving the community, and to see a biblical based transformational change that imitates the life of Jesus
VALUES: “A standard regarding as desirable or worthwhile”
To Be A People of Hope` (Matt. 5:1-12)
Jesus’ life was a life filled with hope. In light of that example and the call to be like Him, the words of our Savior have deep meaning and significance as we endeavor to be a “people of hope”
To Be A People of “Small Obediences” (Matt. 5:13-16)
“Small obediences” are those actions and words that are seemingly small but are just like salt granules which, if added in the right amount to food, enhance its flavor. So it is the smallest acts of kindness, words of hope and love that when given from a pure heart brings life and flavor to all who are touched by it.
To Be A People Who Are “Real” (Holiness)
(Matt. 5:17-20)
When considering Jesus’ teachings and the lives of the church in the book of Acts, we see that holiness was a fruit of being real about one’s self before God and others. There was no pretense in the living out of the gospel.
To Be A People Who Are Transparent, Humble and Who Value Relationships above Personal Comfort
(Matt 5:21-26)
A people not just of outward purity, but a people whose hearts and actions in life are consistent.
To Be A People Who Embrace Accountability To God and To His Family (Matt. 5:27-37)
Embracing the cost of discipleship with the blessings of true commitment and biblical accountability so that people would see Jesus through us.
To Be A People Who Endeavor to Live a Life of Integrity (Matt. 5:33-37)
As believers we are called to live a life of integrity. We value the qualities of Honesty, Sincerity, Hope, Consistency, and Transparency and are committed to living out those qualities daily.
To Be A People Able to Minister in Radical Love
(Matt. 5:-38-48)
As believers we are to live with our eyes wide open, seeing our fellow man as a whole being, body, mind and spirit, and as such, endeavor to meet fellow man’s needs at those three levels whenever presented with a need.
To be a people (the church) who demonstrate in word, acts of kindness, care, courage and commitment Christ’s love towards all whom He died for.
